The Role
Join us and be part of a cutting-edge team in the Electrification Center of Excellence (eCOE). As a Systems Engineering Manager, you'll lead the development of next-generation automotive products and technologies.
Your role involves ensuring seamless system engineering processes in alignment with industry standards like ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO21434. You'll serve as a vital link between Systems and cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration among Product Line, Hardware, Software, and more.
Your responsibilities also include conducting internal design reviews to guarantee technical and process compliance, ensuring the product meets customer expectations.
Additionally, you'll shape the team's vision, manage resources, and support the growth of team members. Your leadership will help maintain a culture of innovation and excellence within the Systems Engineering team, while providing guidance and mentorship for their professional and personal development.
The Person
We're seeking a highly qualified individual with over 10+ years of experience in automotive product development, including 5+ years in systems engineering. You should have a proven track record in Electrical and Electronic hardware and software development and a history of product launches and leadership, whether direct or within matrix teams.
Your expertise should span automotive powertrain architecture, electric motors, inverters, powertrain control, and a deep understanding of automotive system requirements, system architecture design, risk analysis for electric products, V-cycle development processes, ASPICE, and functional safety.
You should also be proficient in embedded controls, electric machines, hybrid and electric drivelines, and well-versed in in-vehicle communication protocols like CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet. A solid grasp of powertrain-related physics, analytical and mathematical skills are essential.
Prior experience with Requirements Management tools like Jama, Polarion, or DOORS, as well as expertise in System architecture/design tools like Enterprise Architect and Rhapsody, is highly valuable. Your ability to lead technical teams, collaborate in a global, virtual team environment, and handle pressure while providing constructive criticism is crucial.
Additional qualifications we value include experience with the Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach and a background in the global Tier 1 or OEM automotive industry. Certifications in Design for Six Sigma, knowledge of LV-123 / VDA-320 for Automotive high voltage / 48V, and ISO 16750 / LV-124 for electrical component validation are advantageous.
