ev upSTARTS AND THE STATE OF BATTERIES...

If you’re reading this newsletter, you probably agree that EVs are the future of the automotive industry, with more and more people choosing to go green and opt for electric over ICE vehicles.

However, while one brand is often seen as leading the EV revolution, E-Mobility Search would like to today give a round of applause for the ever-growing legion of EV start-ups. That’s right, a new wave is emerging, increasing innovation in terms of technology and broadening consumer choice in terms of car design, price points, and brand approach.

Headlines have been made as these brands reveal their exhilarating new electric pick-up trucks, off-roaders, SUVs, and luxury models to the world’s press, sometimes earning rave reviews for performance and features.

As these confident, bold, dynamic new players continue to grow and disrupt the automotive industry, it’s worthwhile for talented individuals in our sector to keep an eye on their future plans. Be ready, as your future paths could align to
mutual benefit.

Similarly, wise eyes should be pointed at South Korea with recent news that their government and the country’s top battery companies will jointly invest $15.1 billion to develop advanced batteries, including solid-state.

The East Asian nation is home to three of the biggest EV battery makers, collectively controlling a quarter of the global market, supplying many major automakers. Korea’s government say the firms will build domestic pilot production plants that will serve as their product and manufacturing innovation and testing centres, prior to launching mass production from overseas.

Regular readers will be aware of the excitement with which E-Mobility Search greets news of significant solid state battery investment. The technology is a holy grail for commercial automakers, promising superior energy densities, faster charging, longer cycle life and lower fire risks than current tech.

To keep abreast of this and many other fascinating developments in the emerging technology sector, keep it locked to E-Mobility Search and our newsletter – E-Levate!

prizewinning pragmatism

Looking for a new job in your current field or stepping outside of it to advance can be a tough and sometimes daunting task. It’s easy to get disheartened along the way, especially if you’re navigating countless job postings, networking events, and application processes without expert assistance (contact us – too subtle?). One philosophy which can bestow your career with forward motion is pragmatism.

When it comes to job searching and career advancement, being pragmatic can be incredibly advantageous. It does not mean you accept anything and have no filters or standards. It is about focusing on what’s important to you, being practical and realistic, learning works and what doesn’t, rather than getting lost in theories and abstract ideas.

It’s easy to get caught up in rigid ideas about your career path. However, by taking time to properly evaluate a given role or company, you can ensure that more often than not, you’re targeting the positions which best fit you. Researching a company’s values, goals and culture, as well as the responsibilities and requirements of the role, all helps. By doing this, you’ll make more informed decisions and avoid wasting time on unsuitable roles.

Rather than applying for every job that catches your eye, you can work strategically, focusing your efforts on the roles that align with your skills and experience. This means tailoring your resume and cover letter to the specific job, highlighting the skills and experiences that are most relevant. By doing this, you’ll increase your chances of getting noticed by talent-spotters and recruiters.

It should come as no surprise that being open to feedback and continuous learning also forms part of this approach. It’s important to remember that job searching, and career advancement are ongoing processes, and there’s always room for improvement. By seeking feedback from recruitment experts, colleagues, and mentors, you can identify areas for growth and develop the skills necessary to succeed in your chosen field.

When ready, use our contact us page to send us a message, call or write to us (and a copy of your CV is always welcome!). Let’s talk about how E-Mobility Search can help you realise your potential this year.
